Saruni Wild

Saruni Wild

A sister camp to Saruni Mara, Saruni Wild is an exclusive tented luxury camp. Guests desiring a wild African bush safari all to themselves will relish their own dedicated staff, dining area, and private vehicle and guide. All of the amenities and activities of the main Saruni Lodge are available for Saruni Wild guests, and the camps are ten kilometers apart. This safari lodge is located in a remote valley within a private conservation area close to Kenya’s Maasai Mara National Reserve. The informal sophistication of Saruni Wild carries over to every aspect, from its hand-made Desert Rose cedar furniture to its romantically draped beds. Two tents feature a main bedroom, en suite bathroom, and veranda. The larger, family tent consists of two bedrooms with en suite bathrooms and a spacious veranda.

Uniquely situated next to the only remaining indigenous forest in the Maasai Mara, Saruni Wild provides guests with opportunity to look for Colobus and Sykes monkeys. Plains wildlife is plentiful to the south, and safari drives often encounter elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard, hippo, crocodile, antelope, waterbuck, and bushbuck. Two Saruni guides have the impressive Silver Level KPSGA qualification, and they work to show guests the best the Maasai Mara has to offer.

Saruni Wild activities focus on elephant tracking, learning bush-craft, and enjoying fabulous night game drives. Below are more exciting activities offered at the main Saruni camp. Unique to Saruni is its combination of authentic African adventure, Maasai warrior interaction, and elegant comfort.

In addition to the traditional safari activities such as day and night game drives, guided bush walks, sundowners, bush meals, cultural visits, library, and African curio shop, Saruni offers several one-of-a-kind activities. The “Warrior for a Week” program teaches guests the survival skills of world-class Maasai warriors, including animal tracking and tool-making. A drawing safari involves working with in-house artist Mariane Høstmark Tveter to paint some of the world’s most magnificent scenery. The Maasai Well-Being Space offers pampering after an exciting day on safari with luxury massage and spa treatments.
