Topi House

Topi House

Nestled in a small thorn tree forest, Topi House is a safari property designed to be your own private bush home. This unique sanctuary bordering both the Olare Orok Conservancy and the Masai Mara National Game Reserve is ideally positioned in Kenya’s southwestern region to take advantage of incredible views and impressive wildlife.

Guests are well cared for by experienced staff that includes a chef, a wildlife guide, and a house manager. Meals can be enjoyed in the dining room, on the expansive veranda, on the lawn under the acacia trees, or further afield on a bush picnic. The chef has a farm-to-table approach that results in a unique culinary experience. Herbs from the on-site garden, spices from the coast, and organic meat from the some of the finest farms in Africa combine to delicious perfection. Since shops are not easily accessible from Topi House, most of the breads, cookies, ice cream, and other special treats are homemade.

Topi House has three bedrooms, each with an en-suite bathroom, spacious living room, sitting and dining area, and veranda with impressive views of the surrounding landscape. An open fire warms guests during the evening hours and provides a place to gather after an exciting day of game drives.

Qualified Maasai guides lead daily game drives into the Maasai Mara Game Reserve in specially modified 4x4 vehicles. All of Africa’s “big five” (lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino, elephant) reside in the Maasai Mara as well as a great variety of other game including cheetah, hippo, crocodile, jackal, and many species of antelope. In July and October of each year, a phenomenon known as the Great Migration takes place, with millions of animals including wildebeest, gazelle, topi, eland, and zebra traveling a circular route in search of fresh pasture. Topi House is positioned directly along the famous migration route, providing a front row seat for guests to experience this incredible natural spectacle.

Other enjoyable activities include sundowners, visits to Olare Orok Conservancy, hot air balloon rides, and visits to local villages, schools, and trading centers.
