Khorixas Rest Camp

Khorixas Rest Camp is not far from the town of Khorixas, the traditional capital of Damaraland. The name Khorixas comes from the Khori bush (Salvadora persica), which is common to the area.

The camp offers a number of accommodation options. Ten air-conditioned single rooms have en-suite bathrooms with showers as well as a tea/coffee station. Each of the 26 bush chalets has two beds. Chalet numbers one to nineteen are the largest. Two family chalets (“VIP chalets”) have two bedrooms each, a self-catering kitchen, satellite TV, and air conditioning. The camp also has 25 campsites.

Travelers will want to cool down after a hot day in the bush and will be delighted with the lodge’s swimming pool. The camp also has a restaurant and bar area with TV and pool table.

Khorixas Lodge is the ideal stopover between Etosha, the Kunene region, and the Skeleton Coast. Nature drives are the primary activity and seek out the area’s curious stone formations, petrified forests, and ancient rock engravings (such as the famous “White Lady” at Brandberg). Further out are other popular destinations like Twyfelfontein, the Burnt Mountain, and Organ Pipes. Guests also enjoy hiking and bird watching.
