Ntwala Island Lodge

Ntwala Island Lodge

Romantic ambiance, exclusive experience, and ultra-luxury suites are just a few of the many highlights of a stay at Ntwala Island Lodge in Namibia. Located on a cluster of islands linked by floating walkways, the lodge is near the junction of the Chobe and Zambezi Rivers. Further enhancing the island feel, lush vegetation flourishes alongside white sand beaches and waving palm trees.

With only four private suites, Ntwala Island Lodge is truly an exclusive safari destination. Relax in your ultra-luxury double suite before heading out to swim in your personal plunge pool. Enjoy the river views from your own private sala and deck. An en-suite bathroom offers double sinks, bath in atrium, and indoor and outdoor showers. Also included are coffee station, complimentary mini bar, ceiling fans, and mosquito netting.

The main lodge complex boasts an elevated, river-facing viewing deck, an indoor/outdoor lounge, a bar, a walk-in wine cellar, a dining area with individual tables, and a small reference library.

Adventures await for thrill-seeking guests of Ntwala Island Lodge. Both conventional and fly fishing for the challenging tiger fish are popular on the mighty Zambezi River. Sundowner boat cruises offer opportunities to see magnificent wildlife in its natural habitat. Guided walks provide opportunities to learn about the wildlife, botany, and culture of the islands. Another favorite expedition is to see a 2,000 year-old baobab tree.

Popular game cruises on the Chobe River into Chobe National Park result in exceptional game viewing, with wildlife such as elephant, buffalo, lion, hippo, puku, lechwe, roan, sable, crocodile, and more. Birdlife flourishes, with species including Rock pratincole, Pel’s fishing owl, Pygmy geese, African skimmers, and Schalows turacowalks.

And guests should certainly not miss is a day trip to Victoria Falls, only fifty miles downriver from the lodge. Visits to the falls include a photo opportunity by the “Big Tree” prior to a guide giving a brief history of the falls. Guests then explore the falls with an experienced guide and shop at the open air curio market. This is followed by either a lunch cruise or lunch at a hotel. Before returning to Ntwala Island Lodge, guests are treated to a visit to the Zambezi Nature Sanctuary and Crocodile Ranch.
