Zebra Kalahari Lodge

Zebra Kalahari Lodge

View the incredible expanse of grassy plains, acacia woodlands, and red sand dunes from the luxurious comfort of Zebra Kalahari Lodge. Located in the middle of Namibia’s Kalahari Desert, Zebra Kalahari Lodge is an ideal choice for exciting excursions into the nearby wildlife sanctuary. Known as Intu Afrika Kalahari Private Game Reserve, the park is home to two rehabilitated and endangered Kalahari lions.

Zebra Kalahari’s high-ceilinged main lodge area boasts a restaurant and bar with terrific views. Enjoy a buffet on the rustic rooftop terrace while taking in the stunning panorama of the Kalahari Desert. A refreshing pool and sundeck add to the relaxing atmosphere and offers its own opportunities to gaze upon the beauty of the desert and its wildlife.

For the ultimate in private elegance, choose one of the Dune Suites, private cottage accommodations. These air-conditioned retreats boast a private terrace, small lounge, kitchenette, spacious bathroom, and large comfortable beds. Attached to the main lodge are the eight air-conditioned guestrooms offering a lounge, desk, mini-bar, comfortable beds, and coffee and tea facilities. En-suite bathrooms provide guests with indoor and outdoor shower, large shower-head, and double sinks.

Experienced local San bushmen lead game drives in specially designed 4x4 vehicles through the southwestern region of the Kalahari, an area which encompasses over 25,000 acres. Wildlife in Namibia is plentiful, and several endangered species including wild dog, black and white rhino, oribi, and puku are native to the area. Many other mammals also inhabit the area including cheetah, zebra, wildebeest, mongoose, jackal, and over twenty species of antelope.

In addition to exploring sand dunes and grassy plains in search of wildlife, guests of Zebra Kalahari Lodge have the opportunity to take part in many other activities. Walking in the Kalahari with a bushman tracker, learning the history and survival secrets of the local San people, relaxing with a massage, and enjoying dinner on the sand dunes all help guests to appreciate the natural splendor of this unique sanctuary.
