Amazian Lodge

Amazian Lodge

A luxury accommodation in South Africa’s Southern Drakensberg region, the Amazian Mountain River Lodge is the perfect place to escape, de-stress, and recharge. Break away from routine by enjoying the beauties of nature or indulging in the luxuries that the lodge has to offer.

Each of the seven elegant rooms are decorated with touches of Africa. King rooms offer en-suite spa bath, indoor rock shower, king-sized bed, river and mountain views, and easy access to the main lodge. Queen rooms are about 1,300 feet from the main lodge and include en-suite spa bath, indoor rock shower, and comfortable queen-sized bed. All rooms also have individual heating and cooling units.

Guests rave about the incredible cuisine at Amazian. One guest could not praise the food enough. “Saying the food was to die for would be an understatement! I've never eaten so much in my life before - but it was all just so tasteful! We had a wonderful time and enjoyed our stay and would recommend Amazian Lodge to EVERYONE!” An extensive wine cellar complements the amazing food, adding to the memorable culinary experience.

Outdoor activities are a favorite at Amazian, and quad biking (four-wheeling) excursions, picnics, horseback riding, nature walks, and the swimming pool provide ample opportunity to enjoy the fresh air. Boating and tubing on the nearby river are excellent summer activities. Many hiking trails beckon, and lodge owners are glad to make recommendations based on time of year and difficulty of trails. Cobham, Lotheni Camp, Giant’s Cup Hiking Trail, and Marutswa Forest all provide opportunity to explore the diversity of flora (including incredible local orchids) and fauna of the area. Forest hikes often reveal wildlife such as parrot, bushbuck, bush pig, large spotted genet, dwarf chameleons, and more.

Other activities include sundowners on the deck, astronomy, aromatherapy treatments at the spa, and archery lessons.
