Bushmans Kloof in the Cederberg Mountains near Clanwilliam is luxurious award-winning retreat, set on the 18,500 acres of Bushmans Kloof Wilderness Reserve. This is not only a “fynbos” paradise (the scientific term for the Cape’s floral kingdom), but it is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a South African National Heritage Site due to the over 130 extraordinary Bushman rock art sites in the area.

Bushmans Kloof is a Relais & Chateaux property, which brings the guarantee of quality, world class food, and superb service. Accommodation is in sixteen luxurious guest rooms and suites, as well as Koro Lodge, a private fully-catered villa. Koro Lodge occupies a renovated farmhouse and can accommodate groups of up to ten guests.

All the rooms have air conditioning, en-suite bathrooms, luxury linens, complementary housekeeping, excellent furnishing, and private label toiletries.

Bushmans Kloof is an exceptional destination not only because of the intimate and excellent accommodations, but also for its cuisine and wines. Bushmans Kloof has received a host of dining awards and recognitions including Condé Nast Traveller UK Gold List for Best Hotels for Food and Diners Club International Wine List of the Year Award.

Bushmans Kloof Wilderness Reserve is renowned for its ecosystem that is home to more 200 bird and animal species as well as nearly 800 indigenous fynbos species. Those who seek to enjoy the outdoors will not be disappointed! Roam over wide-open spaces exploring sculpted rocks and ice-cold waterfalls. Hike and bike the wilderness areas. Canoe and swim in the tributaries of the Olifants River system. Fly-fish the area’s beautiful dams.

Bushman Kloof’s award-winning spa is where you can enjoy the recuperative properties of hydrotherapy or a soothing massage. Wine tasting from the hotel’s award-winning wine list is a particular favorite. Guests also enjoy day trips to experience the area’s ancient rock art sites as well as excursions to Wupperthal, a picturesque Moravian Mission Village about fifty miles from Clanwilliam.
