Earth Lodge

Earth Lodge

Indulge in the ultra-luxurious Earth Lodge, a masterpiece of exquisitely comfortable minimalism where lodge merges seamlessly into the landscape of the wild African bushveld. In keeping with Sabi Sabi’s trademark of “Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow,” this masterpiece perfectly embodies the magic of the “Tomorrow” experience. The future of the African safari experience is here today, exhibited by contemporary styling. A concealed entrance opens to spectacular views, and the lodge is harmoniously sculpted into the slope of the earth.

Innovative elements inspired by the property’s mineral wealth showcase metallic hues, rich colors, and subtle glints of precious metals, resulting in a surprising, modern style. Safari-goers celebrate Earth Lodge’s individually designed suites which feature specially designed furniture, private plunge pool, en-suite glass-fronted bathroom, and indoor and outdoor shower.

Enhancing the already incredible destination, in each of the thirteen suites are natural wooden sculptures by renowned South African artist Geoffrey Armstrong. The special Amber Suite is the epitome of the Earth Lodge experience with its spacious accommodation, impressively carved wooden headboard, steam room, study, and kitchen.

Walls surrounding the outdoor boma have been hand-made piece by piece from uniquely shaped tree roots and add to the drama of a dining experience under the African stars. Panoramic views from the indoor/outdoor dining areas encourage a sense of calm.

Additional amenities include meditation garden, underground wine cellar, sophisticated bar, comfortable lounge, reading lounge and access to the Amani Spa. Whether enjoying classic or individually designed spa treatments, guests find a haven for rest, relaxation and rejuvenation.

Earth Lodge lies in the Sabi Sabi Private Game Reserve, a wilderness oasis in South Africa’s impressive Kruger National Park. Exceptional game-viewing abounds, particularly of Africa’s “big five”: rhino, elephant, lion, leopard, and buffalo. The area is also home to cheetah, wild dog, hyena, over 350 bird species, and over 200 other animal species. With diverse habitat and expansive space to roam, the indigenous wildlife wanders without fear of human intrusion.

Professionally-trained guides and Shangaan trackers contribute their knowledge and experience to every game drive. Guests marvel in the unmatched opportunities to explore the expansive African reserve during the morning and evening safaris, which take place in open Land Rovers. Other, more intimate opportunities for animal viewing are offered during guided bush walks, and bird and animal sightings are easily made from lodge viewing decks.
