Ellerman House inhabits a grand Edwardian mansion that offers excellent views over Bantry Bay on Kloof Road in Cape Town.

Ellerman House has nine luxurious double rooms and two spacious suites with adjoining lounges. Originally founded as a provision station for Dutch ships on their way to the East Indies, this part of the city has many beautiful buildings and important sites from this period including the Castle, the Slave Tree, and even traces of the wild olive hedge planted to keep the wildlife out. Some important places nearby include the National Museum at the top end of Adderley Street where it meets Wale Street as well as the Company Gardens with the beautiful oak walk.

The Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden contains protected natural forest and fynbos along with a variety of animals and birds including over 7,000 species of plants. Whale watching and adrenaline-fueled shark cage diving are also popular activities. Of course, Table Mountain provides panoramic views of the Mother City, Robben Island, and the Peninsula and can be accessed by the cableway or a hike to the top. There are plenty of hiking and biking trails at the top and visitors can even abseil or tandem paraglide off the sides. Cape Town also enjoys many world class beaches. There are also excellent excursions to the outstanding Cape Winelands. In addition to which, the hotel is happy to arrange day tours to Cape Point or visits to the penguin colony at The Boulders near Simonstown
