Enjo Nature Farm

Enjo Nature Farm

Enjo Nature Farm is the creation of Moritz and Andrea Conrad, who happened upon this little piece of paradise about five years ago. The area is wild, pristine, and certainly not the normal “touristy” offering. But the farm is homely and welcoming. Guests of Enjoy have the Conrad family, 350 sheep, olive trees, and extraordinarily beautiful surroundings for company. What more could you ask?

Enjo Nature Farm is privileged to have a bountiful supply of water from a spring. This water that also feeds the dam, which doubles as a swimming pool. A nearby river flows for three-quarters of the year (if the rain cooperates) and adds both to the farm’s charm and water supply.

Guest accommodation is in three private self-catering chalets that all have wonderful views over the river. The chalets can sleep up to four persons each, and amenities include indoor fireplaces, barbecue area, and shared bathroom. A small cabin sleeps 3 and features an indoor fireplace, outdoor kitchen, and barbecue area. Attached to the main farmhouse is a self-catering annex with accommodation for three more guests. Andrea has turned her hand to textiles and hand sewn bedcovers for each room. Beds are made up in the typical German style with two single duvets on double beds, delightful!

For those wishing to “rough it,” there are campsites under the trees on the riverbank. The campsites have hot showers, private toilets, and other amenities that tone down the “roughing it.”

Although all accommodation is self-catering, Andrea will be happy to provide breakfast and dinner if you request this service when booking accommodation. The farm shop has a supply of drinks and basic foodstuffs in case you run out of these.

This area has much to offer. Take a trip to the Rhenish mission station at Wupperthal. Make a point of hiking the Sevilla Rock Art Trail. Visit the Rooibos herbal tea production in the Biedouw Valley. Explore the Cederberg, a World Heritage Site known for its outstanding rock formations. Perhaps the features activity at the farm, though, is to accompany Moritz on his Russian Yak 18T aircraft. Sightseeing tours over Tanqua National Park, Kagga Kamma, the salt pan between Lamberts Bay and Elands Bay, or over the Atlantic coastline are all spectacular.
