Farm 215

Farm 215

A gem in the crown of South Africa’s southern Overberg, Farm 215 is one of the few sustainable and Fair Trade Certified destinations in the area. Maximizing the natural ecosystem and minimizing the human footprint are hallmarks of this special guest lodge. With a combination of remote wilderness and luxurious accommodation, Farm 215 is an elegant yet comfortable retreat for horse-lovers and safari adventurers alike.

The African Horse Company’s base station is located on Farm 215, providing easy access for those desiring a one-of-a-kind horse safari. Tailored to guests’ interest and experience on horseback, trail rides can last in length from a few hours to several days. Explore pristine sand beaches, unspoiled wilderness, and mountain peaks in the “Cape Floral Kingdom,” while at the same time experiencing exciting wildlife sightings.

Farm 215 is proud to offer three different accommodation options. Three exclusive Fynbos Suites are free-standing, contemporary retreats and include amenities such as generous space, lounge, sleeping area, en-suite bath, and private covered deck. In the homestead, two upper floor guestrooms have a more traditional feel, with wood floors, en-suite bathroom, fireplace or woodstove, and the best views on the farm. The homestead’s ground floor suite offers grand accommodation with lounge, cozy woodstove, spacious bathroom, covered terrace, private garden, and more. All rooms and suites feature high-quality amenities such as goose-down duvets, cotton blankets, 100% cotton percale linen, and fynbos-plant based soap, shampoo, bodywash, and lotion.

Farm 215 boasts panoramic views of Lake Kraaiboschdam, the vineyards of Lomond Estate, the western mountains behind Gansbaai, and the “Strandveld” plains. In addition to the spectacular and varied landscapes, the area boasts diverse wildlife, including rare Cape leopard, baboons, honey badger, genet, caracal, tortoise, mongoose, and numerous antelope, reptile, and bird species. And the Overberg coast is home to whales, great white sharks, cape fur seals, African penguins, and many sea-birds.

Popular excursions at Farm 215 include hiking, fynbos walks, Heidehof medicinal walks, 4x4 trails, massage treatments, visits to local vineyards and the Strandveld Museum, birdwatching, exploration into Klipgat Cave, whale-watching, shark-diving, and visiting local beaches and nature reserves. All these make for an unforgettable safari experience.
