Kurland Hotel

Kurland Hotel

Kurland Hotel is an award-winning boutique hotel. It boasts its own private estate and polo club set against a mountain backdrop just outside Plettenberg Bay along South Africa’s Garden Route. Kurland is decidedly exclusive and caters to a high-end clientele. Guests will find the hotel extremely comfortable, the cuisine world-class, and the staff fully committed to making each visit a success.

Kurland Hotel has twelve extraordinary suites, each with its own unique style and superb décor. Two Elegant Suites extend over 500 square feet and overlook the central pool. The suites have sitting areas, fireplaces, private patios, and enormous bathrooms. Double beds are standard, but guests can request a king-size bed. These two suites inter-lead, so they can be used by families or friends traveling together.

Two Luxury Suites are nearly 600 square feet and are located in the rose garden. These suites have décor to compliment the roses and come standard with king-sized, four-poster beds, huge open-plan bathrooms, a sitting area next to a fireplace, and a well stocked library. An additional upstairs loft can accommodate two children.

Four additional Luxury Suites are about 570 square feet and have an entrance terrace overlooking the pool area. These suites have king-sized beds, a generous sitting area, and a fireplace. Spacious bathrooms are fitted with shower and bathtub overlooking a private courtyard and water feature. An additional en-suite loft can accommodate two children.

The four Superior Suites are exquisite and are situated away from the main homestead to ensure maximum privacy. At about 750 square feet, each suite can sleep up to four persons. Two of the suites have an upstairs en-suite loft with satellite TV and telephone.

The Garden Route is the playground of the South Africa’s southern Cape region. Thus, guests of Kurland Hotel have a long list of possible activities. There are a number of world class golf courses in the area, although reservations should be made well in advance. There are many excellent beaches both in Plettenberg Bay and Nature’s Valley. There are also a number of animals sanctuaries worth visiting, one of which is at “The World of Birds,” featuring an extraordinarily large free-flight aviary extending across an entire valley.

Facilities at the hotel include a spa, gym, and plunge pool. Kurland also offers numerous dining options, all outstanding as one would expect. The hotel’s main restaurant was recently recognized as a 2013 American Express Platinum Card Fine Dining Restaurant.
