MalaMala Game Reserve

MalaMala Game Reserve

The MalaMala Game Reserve is arguably South Africa’s most internationally famous private reserve. And for good reason. Situated in the heart of the South African Lowveld, the MalaMala Game Reserve is unmatched in both pristine wilderness and wildlife density.

The park’s 33,000 acres hug 13 miles of the Sand River, and its unfenced borders allow animals to migrate to the water from the Kruger National Park in the east and the Sabi Sand Wildtuin in the west. The park maintains its remoteness and animal concentrations by providing park access exclusively to residents of its three luxury camps.

The MalaMala Game Reserve offers some of the best wildlife viewing on the subcontinent. In addition to the vast herds of grazing mammals that roam freely across the bush, the region is also home to high concentrations of cheetah, buffalo, elephant, rhino, lion, and leopard. In fact, the so-called “big five” are so prevalent that recent statistics indicate visitors staying more than one night have over a 99% chance of seeing them all in one day! Daily game drives in open 4x4 vehicles promise to fill your viewfinder with enviable wildlife faster than any other African location.
