Rocktail Beach Camp

Rocktail Beach Camp

If pristine beaches, a wetland park, ancient sand dunes and scuba-diving in pristine waters off a marine reserve call to you, then Rocktail Beach Camp is for you.

Rocktail Beach Camp is placed in the lush Maputaland Coastal Forest which blankets ancient dunes and is situated at Manzengwenya in the iSimangaliso Wetland Park, formerly known as the Greater St Lucia Wetland Park in the northern Kwa-Zulu Natal.

A comfortable 20-minute walk leads to a utopia of almost 40km of unspoilt beaches along the warm Indian Ocean waters of a Marine Reserve and World Heritage Site.

Apart from the wonderful walks guests can enjoy in the forests and along the spectacular beaches, a fully accredited dive centre provides both scuba diving and snorkeling in this marine reserve.

In addition to these activities, at certain times of the year whale-watching is possible as well as once-in-a-lifetime encounters with nesting turtles. Exclusive and private are two words that best describe this experience.

Rocktail Beach Camp has seventeen rooms set in the indigenous forest, and most rooms have ocean views. Each room has an open-feel indoor shower and overhead fans. Seven of the rooms are two-bedroom family units with a shared bathroom. There is also a honeymoon suite, which has especially remarkable views of the dune forest and the ocean.

A central dining room, bar and lounge with scenic wrap-around verandah make for wonderfully relaxing days and nights and a large pool and curio shop complete the picture.
