Ulusaba Safari Lodge

Ulusaba Safari Lodge

On the border of South Africa’s iconic Kruger National Park, Ulusaba is Sir Richard Branson’s private game reserve. Its prime location in the middle of the Sabi Sand Reserve ensures awe-inspiring vistas as well as spectacular wildlife.

Strategically located beneath the forest canopy, Ulusaba Safari Lodge perches on the banks of a dry riverbed, which is an ideal “highway” for local wildlife. The camp’s ten treehouse-style rooms are linked by rope bridges and feature generously sized rooms, lounge areas, expansive windows, private viewing decks, elegant en-suite bathrooms, and breathtaking views. Safari Rooms, Elephant Rooms, and River Rooms offer high-quality amenities, and some include a private plunge pool. Another exciting accommodation, the Treehouse Suite is a fifteen minute walk along a raised walkway, but well worth the extra effort for its views overlooking the Xikwenga Dam.

Ulusaba’s talented chefs offer a taste of Africa in every bite. Local spices and flavors as well as international favorites find a spot on the dramatic table, alongside top South African vintages and French champagne. Hand-crafted breads and pastries are made daily, and chefs delight in catering for private meals, special occasions, and children’s requests.

Twice a day, experienced rangers and trackers lead voyages into the game-rich reserve. Experience wildlife as it was meant to be—free to roam wild. All of Africa’s “big five” inhabit the reserve: lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino. Other favorites frequently sighted include giraffe, zebra, cheetah, and hippo.

Relax and experience rejuvenating treatments in the Aroma Boma, Ulusaba’s unique spa. Its location on the banks of the dry Mabrak riverbed ensures complete privacy, and its exclusive use of Africology products yields amazing results.

“Elephant Whispers” is a program designed to allow guests to come face to face with the magnificent elephant herds, an exciting excursion for young and old alike. Other popular activities include stargazing, viewing wildlife from the treehouse viewing deck, exploring the cascades and canyons via helicopter, visiting a local Shangaan village, and supporting Ulusaba’s successful charitable project, “Pride ‘n Purpose.”
