Arusha Coffee Lodge

Arusha Coffee Lodge

Lounging in the shadows of beautiful Mount Meru lies Arusha Coffee Lodge, a retreat in the middle of one of Tanzania’s largest coffee plantations. Over the years, Plantation Houses and Plantation Suites have been built out from the original landowner’s circa 1900’s home. This original homestead houses an a la carte restaurant, an intimate bar, cozy lounge, fireplace, two boutiques, intimate swimming pool, and garden terrace.

Never far from the aroma of coffee, each of the twelve Plantation Suites is set among evergreen coffee fields. Bask on your private sun terrace or balcony while enjoying the luxurious bathrobe and slippers provided for you. Romantically draped beds, 32” flat screen TV, satellite TV service, WiFi, en-suite bath with triple-headed shower, safe, mini-bar, and tea and coffee making facilities make your stay at Arusha a truly luxurious one.

Plantation Rooms are set among the Burka Estate coffee bushes and welcome guests with comfortable home-like furnishings. From the cozy wood-burning fireplace to soft bathrobe and slippers, a Plantation Room offers more than the essentials.

Always a guest highlight, the “bean-to-cup” coffee estate tour is a must-do. This two-hour walk around the coffee plantation introduces guests to the entire coffee process, from growing and harvesting to drying and producing this favorite aromatic brew.

Animal-lovers should visit to Arusha National Park, the closest national park to the city of Arusha, northern Tanzania’s safari capital. The montane forest is home to blue monkey, turaco, trogon, black and white colobus monkey, buffalo, warthog, and more. A stop at the impressive Ngurdoto Crater is an unforgettable experience.

The city of Arusha offers several cultural experiences: Museum of Natural History, Tanzanite Museum, Maasai Market, and local cultural center. Another thrilling day trip takes guests to the Ngorongoro Crater, a large unflooded volcanic caldera. This massive “natural enclosure” is home to vast herds of plains game along with accompanying predators such as lion and hyena.
