Faru Faru Lodge

Faru Faru Lodge

The warm, charismatic style of Faru Faru Lodge often surprises guests with its botanical theme, barefoot elegance, and picturesque setting. Modern, cutting-edge design blends with comfortable furnishings, resulting in a unique, contemporary style. Guests delight in the bamboo furniture, soft linens, raw canvas, bleached wooden decks, neutral colors, and mekaka matting.

Edges of the two heated, rim-flow swimming pools in the main lodge bend and curve, mimicking the lines of the watering hole below. In addition, elevated viewing decks offer panoramic views of the watering hole and surrounding Grumeti Reserve. The reserve is situated in northern Tanzania and forms part of the Serengeti Mara ecosystem.

This area on the western part of the Serengeti National Park, Africa’s number one world heritage site, is known worldwide for its spectacular annual wildebeest migration. From Faru Faru, guests can experience this amazing sight first-hand as well as enjoy the greatest diversity of large mammals in the world. The 350,000 acres of Grumeti Reserve’s mostly untouched wilderness hosts a massive wildlife population including twenty-five species of large carnivores, forty species of herbivores, and over 2,500 species of birds.

Eight open-style suites and one Villa Suite offer luxurious amenities. Each suite boasts an en suite bathroom as well as a bath and outdoor shower. Other features include reading area, generous picture window, personal bar and fridge, deck with Swarovski spotting scope, and more. The Villa Suite is designed with two identical double bedrooms and a large, shared lounge/dining area, suitable for couples traveling together. Also, there is a dedicated family suite ideal for a family of four. Altogether, Faru Faru can accommodate twenty-two guests.

Additionally, the main lodge area features a dining room, bar lounge, DVD player, library, outdoor barbeque, and boutique. A Swahili-inspired “beach” provides moments of relaxation and easy conversation at the end of an event-filled day. Activities center around the twice-daily game drives with professional guides. Star-gazing safaris, mountain biking, out-rides starting from the equestrian center in the nearby Sasakwa Lodge, and balloon safaris across the Serengeti Plains (not included in rate) all provide ample opportunities to view the diverse animal species in their natural environment.
