Garbutt Photo Safari 2014

Garbutt Photo Safari 2014

departing February 28, 2014

Piper & Heath again partners with award-winning photographer Mark Garbutt to offer an exciting 11-day safari exploring the best of Tanzania. In addition to his thriving commercial and industrial photography business, Mark’s passion extends to guided photo tours which he has led on three continents. He began his career as a photographic naturalist, and his work has won numerous prestigious awards.

Mark is combining his talents with Piper & Heath’s extensive African experience to organize a once-in-a-lifetime journey through Tanzania’s legendary Ngorongoro Crater and Serengeti National Park. After one night at Arusha’s luxurious Mount Meru Hotel, guests will transfer to Tarangire Safari Lodge and spend the next two days exploring Tarangire National Park. The tour will then transfer to Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge and spend two days exploring the fantastic Ngorongoro Crater.

The rest of the safari will be spent within the Serengeti, in locations selected to maximize exposure to the Serengeti's world-class wildlife populations as well as the annual great wildebeest migration. Olduvai Gorge will be visited en route to Dunia Camp. Also in the area, the Moru Kopjes are arguably the Serengeti’s most picturesque region. Moving south toward the Ndutu Flats, Chaka Camp is situated on the plains mostly likely to be hosting the great herds at this time of year.
