Kyambura Game Lodge

Kyambura Game Lodge

Welcome. Taste. Comfort. Luxury. Wild. Culture. All of Kyambura’s signature phrases truly come together to create one of the most special game lodges in Uganda’s Queen Elizabeth National Park. An amazing diversity of wildlife thrives in the park, including over one hundred different mammals and over six hundred different bird species.

Eight comfortable guest cottages offer spacious rooms, incredible views of the plains, private veranda, romantically draped beds, and en-suite bathrooms. The rustic atmosphere is enhanced by the handcrafted furniture and accessories. A unique idyllic location has been chosen for each luxury cottage, providing a private retreat after an exciting day in the wild.

The main lodge features a large lounge, viewing deck, and swimming pool located at the edge of a cliff! Outdoor dining is encouraged, whether for a quick continental breakfast, snack of African delicacies, lunch, or dinner. Chef-prepared meals mix international delights with an African flair using fresh local ingredients. Many of the vegetables are organically grown in the on-site garden.

The close proximity of Maramagambo Forest offers opportunity to interact with forest monkeys, birds, and the flamingoes in the crater lakes. The Ishasha wilderness area is famous for its tree-climbing lions, and the Kyambura Gorge is home to habituated chimpanzees. Other species typically sighted in the park are elephant, buffalo, antelope, leopard, hippo, and crocodile.

In addition to game drives, guests can take part in an afternoon boat cruise on the Kazinga channel (looking for hippos and crocodiles!), chimpanzee trek, nature walks/hikes, and trips to the stunning crater lakes of Bunyaruguru. Under the starry African night, a local dance group known as the Bunyaruguru troupe performs a traditional dance around the campfire.

End your trip with a guided walk to a local village to get a taste of colorful African culture. Enjoy shopping for local crafts and seeing ancient traditions as they are practiced today.
