Chichele Presidential Lodge

Chichele Presidential Lodge

Originally constructed for Zambian president, Kenneth Kaunda, in the 1970’s, this historic camp retains the colonial style while offering the utmost luxury experience. Chichele Presidential Lodge is situated in the expansive South Luangwa National Park, which is home to one of the largest hippo populations in the world.

Visitors will enjoy outdoor gourmet dinners on the veranda and the relaxing swimming pool, both with spectacular views of the surrounding landscape. Each of the ten guest suites boasts a four-poster bed, full bath, air conditioning, and private deck overlooking the plains.

Safari-goers are sure to be enthralled with the impressive concentration of wildlife in this region of Zambia. Guides conduct day and night game drives throughout the African bush, and guests will want to experience both for the different animal sightings each will provide. Leopard, hyena, antelope, and zebra are more approachable in the cover of night and guests can often get fabulous photographs of these normally elusive creatures. Walking safaris also provide fantastic opportunities for tracking various species of smaller animals, as well as giving guests a glimpse of life in Africa from the perspective of its lesser-known residents.
