Journeys with Insight

The beautiful Chindeni hills of Zambia’s South Luangwa National Park provide both the backdrop and the name for Chindeni Camp. Perched on the banks of a permanent lagoon and looking out to the distant hills, Chindeni is most certainly one of the most beautiful tented camps in the region. Guests have opportunity to observe wildlife in and around the lagoon from the comfort of their tent’s private veranda.

Known for its impressive wildlife and wildfowl populations, South Luangwa National Park derives its virility from the Luangwa River. The river flows year-round, flooding portions of the surrounding plains toward the end of the annual rainy season, and thereby supports a diversity of wildlife. From the over 400 species of bird to the surprising variety of antelope species to the elephant, giraffe, hippo, lion, and leopard, South Luangwa is truly a wildlife haven.

The opulent tents offer wooden floors, four-poster beds, en-suite bathrooms, and private verandas that tempt guests to never leave. But promises of once-in-a-lifetime wildlife encounters on the daily (and nightly!) game drives and walks beckon the adventurous into the bush. And whether from a deckchair or a jeep seat, visitors can expect to experience Africa in a life-changing way.
