Kapinga Camp

Kapinga Camp

The premiere luxury lodge in the Busanga Plains region, Kapinga Camp offers intimate comfort while melding seamlessly into the surrounding landscape. With the Busanga Plains heralded as the jewel of Zambia’s Kafue National Park as well as the country’s wildlife epicenter, Kapinga Camp is the ideal base from which to experience the area.

The Busanga Plains are the brood floodplains of Lufupa River, which is itself a tributary of the greater Kafue River. Late in the rainy season, vast expanses of the plains become wetlands supporting breathtaking numbers of birdlife. As the marshes dry out, they leave behind lush grasslands that attract fantastic concentrations of wildlife. Guests can expect to encounter more than a dozen major species of antelope (including lechwe, puku, sitatunga, puku, and impala) as well as wildebeest, zebra, and buffalo. In turn these mighty herds attract impressive concentrations of predators. Most common are lion, but safaris also encounter cheetah and wild dog with great frequency.

Not only is Kapinga Camp the height of luxury, but, limited to just four resident tents, it offers the ultimate in exclusivity as well. Constructed on raised platforms, the camp affords panoramic views of the surrounding plains. The common lounge and dining areas sprawl under the shade of majestic trees.
