Zambia & Zimbabwe Scenic Splendor

Zambia & Zimbabwe Scenic Splendor

Combining the best of two fascinating wilderness areas in Zambia and Zimbabwe, this safari adventure will thrill and excite every traveler. A guided stopover at the awe-inspiring Victoria Falls is sure to be a highlight of your memorable nine day trip.

Upon arriving at Lusaka, take a chartered flight to Busanga Bush Camp in Zambia’s Kafue National Park. Taking full advantage of the locale, guests are encouraged to fit in an evening game drive and set aside precious moments for one of the spectacular sunsets. For the next two days, explore the Busanga Plains, the “jewel in the crown” of Zambia’s thrilling Kafue National Park, which encompasses over 8,600 square miles of protected area. Its fertile grasslands attract incredible concentrations of wildlife, most notably puku, red lechwe, buffalo, and wildebeest. Four different prides of lions have been identified in the area, and guests experience an amazing array of other species including cheetah, sidestriped jackal, roan antelope, wattled crane, and more.

Tented accommodations at Busanga Bush Camp are comfortable and welcoming. Most meals are enjoyed beneath the unique lantern chandelier that hangs from a majestic sycamore tree, and the common camp areas offer panoramic views of the surrounding savanna. An optional upgrade to Shumba Camp is available.

On day four, take a private chartered flight to Livingstone, Zambia, followed by a short drive to the Zambezi Sun Hotel. At nearby Victoria Falls, enjoy a ninety-minute guided walking tour through scenic rainforest while stopping at numerous viewpoints to gaze at one of the seven natural wonders of the world.

The earthy atmosphere of the Zambezi Sun Hotel is unpretentious, fun, and welcoming, featuring spacious rooms, beautiful gardens, and an inviting pool. It offers activities at additional cost such as cultural, museum, and market tours, morning and evening game drives, morning and evening boat cruises on the Zambezi River, and other seasonal activities. An optional accommodation upgrade to Toka Leya or The River Club includes many of the above activities.

A 5-6 hour scenic drive takes you across the border into Zimbabwe’s Hwange National Park, home of Davison’s Camp. (An optional flight upgrade is also available.)

Spend the next two days tracking wildlife, exploring Hwange National Park, and photographing wildlife, birds, and scenery. For 75 years, diverse animal populations have converged on this unique sanctuary, particularly elephant, buffalo, sable, roan, southern giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, lion, leopard, wild dog, cheetah, and spotted hyena. Over 420 bird species call the area home, including martial eagle, secretary bird, and crimson-breasted shrike.

Davison’s Camp overlooks a busy waterhole and open plain, providing optimal viewing opportunities from its main camp area and from private tents. On Day nine, return via air charter to Victoria Falls Airport.
