Ruckomechi Camp

Ruckomechi Camp

Ruckomechi Camp lies on the banks of the Zambezi River, overlooking the mountains of the Great Rift Valley across the river. Beautiful albida, acacia, and mahogany trees provide a shaded canopy for its guests who have a front row seat to watch the elephants eating the albida trees’ nutritious pods.

Ten en-suite tents comprise the camp, one of which is a honeymoon suite. All of them overlook the Zambezi River and have an indoor/outdoor shower. A walkway connects the guest tents with a central dining room, bar, library, and lounge. A separate deck houses an infinity pool and a stargazing deck. The camp’s hot water and lighting are solar powered in an effort to be environmentally friendly.

Guests can spot large herds of elephant and buffalo as well as predators including lions, leopards, and wild dogs. Birdlife is especially prolific with species like the black-throated Wattle-Eyes and the Racket-tailed Roller. Adventurers can encounter the wildlife via open vehicle game drives, pontoon boat cruises, walking safaris, or in canoes.
