Somalisa Camp

Somalisa Camp

An intimate and secluded camp tucked away in the heart of Hwange National Park, Somalisa Camp is an ideal locale for experiencing the beautiful and wild African wilderness. Shaded by acacia trees and home to more than 400 species of birds and 100 different animal species, Somalisa Camp is located on an acacia island on the edge of an ancient flood plain in western Zimbabwe. Its location provides spectacular views of the Kennedy Vlei savannah plains.

The camp’s six luxury tents each offer an en-suite bathroom with a flush toilet and outdoor shower. Guests are likely to encounter elephants as they traverse the paths connecting the guest tents with the main area. The common area is comprised of a library, lounge, dining area, swimming pool, and platform overlooking the camp. Somalisa Camp is also environmentally friendly, providing solar-powered lighting throughout the camp.

Either while relaxing in a guest tent or sitting on the main area’s platform, guests can spot large herds of elephant and buffalo as well as animals like zebra, wildebeest, gemsbok, white rhino, leopard, hyena, and the rare and endangered Sable and Roan antelope. There are also beautiful wildflowers that bloom during the rainy season.
